Metastatic Bone Tumors

Treated with TCM

Clinical case

48 year old female patient

In 2014, she had breast cancer

In 2023, in a routine consultation (annual follow-up), there was an abrupt rise in the tumor marker CA 15.3>1000U/mL

In June 2023, a PET scan was performed which revealed multiple bone and lymph node metastasis

Diagnosis

Multiple bone and lymph node metastasis

Treatment

According to biomedicine, the treatment of bone metastasis, especially when there are multiple lesions scattered across the skeleton, does not aim for a cure since it is not possible to eliminate all cancer cells.

Multidisciplinary treatments aim to try to stop the growth of metastases, minimize the loss of bone tissue and alleviate pain.

After diagnosis, the patient began a treatment cycle of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy.

As there was no cure for her condition, she went to my clinic looking for a complementary treatment to increase the probability of success of her treatment and consequently the survival rate.

After an assessment consultation, a treatment protocol was defined based on personalized Chinese herbal medicine formulas and acupuncture treatments, which she started immediately.

5 months after starting treatments, the PET scan was repeated.
